These graphic works both reflect and record events, the courage and resistance of Ukrainians during the war, false Russian propaganda, and war crimes.</p>

<p>The exhibition includes a selection of 309 posters as well as video documentation of 37 Wartime Posters exhibitions held in public spaces of the frontline city of Zaporizhzhia, southern Ukraine, over the past four years of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Wartime Posters is a long-term patriotic open-air art project founded in 2022 at the initiative of curators Olena Speranska and Gennadiy Kozub, in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Zaporizhzhia City Council.</p>

<p>In 2022–2023, nineteen outdoor Wartime Posters exhibitions by contemporary Ukrainian artists, graphic designers, and illustrators — including Les Arts contre la Guerre (a collective project that emerged in Paris, France) — were presented in Zaporizhzhia. As a result, a collection of 453 graphic works was compiled and published in the eponymous book in 2023, which will also be presented at the exhibition opening reception at the Clifford Gallery on February 25, following an opening lecture by curator Olena Speranska.</p>

<p>About Olena Speranska:
<br>Speranska is a prominent Ukrainian art curator and art manager who has been organizing projects of the international symposium of contemporary art BIRUCHIY for 18 years, including the implementation of 20 international art residencies and more than 50 multimedia exhibitions of contemporary art in Ukraine and other countries including the United States, Canada, Italy, Poland, Montenegro, Germany, and the United Kingdom. She is author and curator of the book “Wartime Posters” 2022-2023 featuring a collection of 453 graphic artworks by Ukrainian and French artists, presented as part of an initiative that held 19 open air exhibitions in Ukraine’s frontline city of Zaporizhzhia. She is the author of the educational lecture program for kids, “PRO: contemporary art” that was implemented in Zaporizhzhia in 2019. She is a social activist, serving as Director of the international art residency program BIRUCHIY, Vice-president of the “Contemporary Art Researchers Union” (NGO, Ukraine), and Founder of the “Ukrainian Contemporary Art Platform” (501(c3) non-profit, USA). She curates shows reflecting Ukraine’s collective trauma and spirit, bringing artists’ voices to global audiences while leading cultural diplomacy initiatives, including the “Lublin Triangle” residency uniting Ukrainian, Polish, and Lithuanian artists — despite losing her home to war.</p>

These graphic works both reflect and record events, the courage and resistance of Ukrainians during the war, false Russian propaganda, and war crimes.</p>

<p>The exhibition includes a selection of 309 posters as well as video documentation of 37 Wartime Posters exhibitions held in public spaces of the frontline city of Zaporizhzhia, southern Ukraine, over the past four years of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Wartime Posters is a long-term patriotic open-air art project founded in 2022 at the initiative of curators Olena Speranska and Gennadiy Kozub, in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Zaporizhzhia City Council.</p>

<p>In 2022–2023, nineteen outdoor Wartime Posters exhibitions by contemporary Ukrainian artists, graphic designers, and illustrators — including Les Arts contre la Guerre (a collective project that emerged in Paris, France) — were presented in Zaporizhzhia. As a result, a collection of 453 graphic works was compiled and published in the eponymous book in 2023, which will also be presented at the exhibition opening reception at the Clifford Gallery on February 25, following an opening lecture by curator Olena Speranska.</p>

These graphic works both reflect and record events, the courage and resistance of Ukrainians during the war, false Russian propaganda, and war crimes.</p>

<p>The exhibition includes a selection of 309 posters as well as video documentation of 37 Wartime Posters exhibitions held in public spaces of the frontline city of Zaporizhzhia, southern Ukraine, over the past four years of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Wartime Posters is a long-term patriotic open-air art project founded in 2022 at the initiative of curators Olena Speranska and Gennadiy Kozub, in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Zaporizhzhia City Council.</p>

<p>In 2022–2023, nineteen outdoor Wartime Posters exhibitions by contemporary Ukrainian artists, graphic designers, and illustrators — including Les Arts contre la Guerre (a collective project that emerged in Paris, France) — were presented in Zaporizhzhia. As a result, a collection of 453 graphic works was compiled and published in the eponymous book in 2023, which will also be presented at the exhibition opening reception at the Clifford Gallery on February 25, following an opening lecture by curator Olena Speranska.</p>
