What is Practical Truth?
About this Event
Dr. Jennifer Frey, professor of philosophy at the University of Tulsa, works on moral psychology, virtue, and practical reasoning. She co-edited the volume Self-Transcendence and Virtue (with Candace Vogler) and is finishing a volume, Practical Truth, with her husband Christopher Frey. Another volume, Practical Wisdom, is forthcoming with Oxford University Press. Her work on virtue, happiness, and the meaning of life has been supported by a multi-million dollar grant from the John Templeton Foundation.
Dr. Frey has written for First Things, Image, and The Point, and hosts the podcast Sacred and Profane Love. Her recent New York Times op-ed defended the value of rigorous, discussion-based liberal education in the modern university.
Join us for her talk, “What is Practical Truth?”
