True Accounts in History and Fiction: An Evening with Katherine Howe

Katherine Howe is the author of New York Times bestsellers, including The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane and (with Anderson Cooper) Vanderbilt and Astor. She is the editor of The Penguin Book of Witches (a primary source collection) and has also written numerous young adult novels. Howe will speak with Dan Bouk, professor of history, about what it's like to write bestselling history and fiction, how the genres differ (or do not), and about the craft of writing. They will also celebrate the release of Howe's newest novel, A True Account: Hannah Masury's Sojourn Amongst the Pyrates, Written by Herself.
