About this Event
This workshop/performance draws on Béalleka’s training as a professor of literature and cultural studies to demonstrate the intersections of raced and gendered experience, and the significance of identity to finding our professional paths. Béalleka graphically charts powerful statements about identity using an interactive exercise she calls “Diagramming Blackness” to break down terms and walk audiences through analyses of what it means to be a conscious Black woman professional both within and outside the academy.
This analytical model will provide an example for students to use with their own identities and vocational searches.
