About this Event
The Tempestry Project is personal and collaborative fiber art, environmental education, and climate activism through data representation all rolled into a sprawling community of friends, artists, crafters, teachers, scientists, nature lovers, activists, and more.
The Residential Commons is collaborating with Entrepreneurship and Innovation, University Museums, the Center for Women's Studies, and academic departments on campus to create a series of Tempestries to display in the Longyear Museum of Anthropology in the spring. Come to our workshop to learn more about this awesome initiative and get started contributing to it yourself!
All students, faculty, staff, and community members are eligible to participate in this community project.
Tempestry kits are designed for crochet, but can be knitted using a garter stitch. Don't know how to crochet? No worries! Senior Residential Fellow Marissa Bordonaro — our resident crochet expert — is more than happy to teach you. (It's easy, we promise!)
