Summer 1969 is remembered for Stonewall, the Apollo landing, and Woodstock. Yet, there was also a major multi-week music festival held in a Harlem park. Footage of this festival lingered in storage for 50 years until QuestLove and his team turned it into a phenomenal motion picture.

The Hamilton Movie Theater and HAARC (Hamilton Area Anti-Racist Coalition) have collaborated for the showing "Summer of Soul" Feb 23 at 7pm.

Please consider attending this showing. This wonderful movie has been nominated for Best Documentary!

If you like the Blues, if you like Motown, if you like Soul, this movie is for you! And importantly, it documents the civil rights struggle in Harem and America in 1969.

Free for Colgate students (with ID). The cost for community members is only $5.00 and a portion of the proceeds will go to a local black owned farm. It will be shown in the large theater.
