Refugee Resettlement in Utica, NY: Reflections and Recommitments

The Division of Social Sciences Presents this semester’s Luncheon Seminar Series.

  • Shelly Callahan, Executive Director, and Jennifer VanWagoner, Grants and Community Engagement, The Center (thecenterutica.org)
  • Julie Dudrick, Upstate Institute

Description: In this presentation, we (i) reflect on implications of federal administrative actions on U.S. refugee programs under both the previous and present administrations, at the national and local levels; (ii) outline changes in the programs of The Center to serve refugees and migrants in central New York, and  (iii) describe opportunities for effective public-private partnerships to promote inclusion, well-being and to welcome refugees and migrants .
