Building on Matthew Desmond's presentation on campus and his book, Poverty, by America (Colgate's Common Read), this faculty panel event will continue conversations on poverty abolition, Desmond's work, his diagnosis of the problem of poverty, and the prescriptions he offers. Professors Fitzgerald, Hamlin, Levere, and Simpson will present comments and critiques before opening the floor for new perspetives and questions from students, faculty, staff, and community members.
