Join Zaid Kurdieh for a discussion of halal and Tayyib food and the ethos of his 250+ acre vegetable and fruit farm, Norwich Meadows. The farm has over 200 high tunnels in production in Chenango County, with over 60 employees. Zaid is the 2022 Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York (NOFA-NY) Farmer of the Year and has worked in the agricultural industry for over 35 years. He is also a board member of Chefs for Impact, a non-profit aimed at empowering people and connecting communities to make sustainable food decisions through media, programs, and advocacy.

During peak season, Norwich Meadows Farm is present at eleven farmer’s markets each week, including the Union Square Greenmarket in New York City. Norwich Meadows also has 600+ CSA members and supplies more than 200 high-end restaurants.

A reception will follow the talk in Lawrence 305 and will feature local organic produce from Norwich Meadows farm.
