Museum Conversations: When to sell the art?
Join University Museums staff members, students, and invited guests as we discuss hot topics in the museum field. Everyone is welcome to attend. Drop in when you can and leave when you need. Lunch will be provided.
Deaccessioning—the process of removing a work from a museum collection—is on the mind of many museums as they try to make their collections relevant and address financial pressures brought about by pandemic shutdowns. Nick West, Curator of Picker Art Gallery and Co-director of University Museums, and Ellie Miller ’22 will facilitate a discussion on the major debates around deaccessioning and how museum thinking is shifting.
Guests from off campus are required to register in advance and follow all campus protocols pertaining to COVID-19. Please register with Nick West at email@example.com by Friday, October 15, if you would like to attend.
