CANCELED - Migration, Precarity, Refuge: Faculty Roundtable & Film Screening

Forced migration, dangerous journeys, seeking asylum and survival, finding or being denied refuge: This is the reality for tens of millions of people around the globe fleeing war, genocide, oppression, and environmental risk and catastrophe. This interdisciplinary event attempts to give voice to contemporary experiences of exile and displacement, understand the forces behind them, and analyze their articulation in various cultural media.

The panel of Colgate faculty include Gbenga Adesina (English & Creative Writing), Amanda Rogers (Middle East & Islamic Studies), Aleksandr Skylar (University Studies) and Didem Uca (German Dept.).

A screening of "Joy" by director Sudabeh Mortezai (2018) will follow 6:30-8:15.

Co-sponsored by the University Studies, Women's Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, the German Dept., and the Coalition of Women in German.
