Meraki - Reflective Dance Workshops

Meraki (v.) to do something with soul, creativity, or love; when you leave a piece of yourself in your work.

Meraki is a dance/reflection program that uses movement for communication, collaboration, and contemplation. The emotional connection and emotive ability of dance is more important than the physical dancing; the latter is treated simply a means to express your feelings. It aims to increase bodily awareness, make you more comfortable with your body and with spending time with yourself, and introduce dance as a viable option to process.

  • All interactions that occur during sessions remain within the group.
  • No level of dance training is assumed.
  • Any comfortable attire can be worn to each session.
  • Feedback can be provided at the end of a session while in group, or individually in person or via email to the facilitator. At the end of the four sessions, a feedback form will be sent out to all participants.
