About this Event
Living Writers presents Ling Ma. This event is free and open to the public.
Ling Ma is the author of the critically acclaimed debut novel Severance, described as a “meticulous, caustic description of life in big cities and what happens when a terrible pandemic slowly annihilates most of the human population.” Severance won the Kirkus Prize for Fiction, the NYPL Young Lions Fiction Award, and the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award. It was also a New York Times Notable Book and an NPR Best Book of 2018. Ms. Ma’s second book, a story collection titled Bliss Montage, comes out this month. Born in Sanming, China, Ms. Ma grew up in Utah and Kansas and earned an MFA from Cornell University. She lives in Chicago.
