Ingrid Rojas Contreras is a native of Bogotá, Colombia. Her memoir, The Man Who Could Move Clouds, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award. It won a California Book Award. Her first novel Fruit of the Drunken Tree was the silver medal winner in First Fiction from the California Book Awards as well as a New York Times editor’s choice. That newspaper’s critic describes it as “a beautifully rendered novel of an Escobar-era Colombian childhood.” Ms. Rojas Contreras is now a Visiting Writer at Saint Mary’s College in California.
