Amythyst Kiah, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter whose fusion of indie rock sounds and old-time blues and folk returns to perform as part of the Brown Commons Coffeehouse and Live Music Collective Series at the historic Earlville Opera House (c. 1892). Her latest album Wary + Strange has drawn praise from critics at The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and NPR. The album is also up for the UK Americana Awards International Album of the Year. In addition to her explosive arrival as a solo artist on the Americana and Roots music scene, you may also have heard her as part of Our Native Daughters with Rhiannon Giddens, Allison Russell, and Leyla McCalla. Her Grammy nomination came in 2019 when her song “Black Myself” earned a nod for Best Roots Song of the Year. Last year, she was nominated for Emerging Act of the Year by the Americana Music Association. Needless to say, you should not miss this show.
