About this Event
19 Utica Street, Hamilton, NY 13346, USA
This course is an introduction to Contemporary Visual Art, including how to look at, interpret, analyze, and understand contemporary art. We will look at art through the lens of the artist and study art as entertainment, confrontation, event, message, joke, spectacle, and meditation.
Presenter: Leigh Yardley creates work in paint and installation situating herself as a part of the system of landscape. Her most recent installation, Prospect and Refuge at Stone Quarry Art Park was part of her long term project Convergence of Water, a series of interactions in the three watersheds that converge in Madison County. Leigh was formerly an adjunct at SUNY Morrisville, teaching visual arts.
