About this Event
This course looks at the moral dilemmas faced by three Russian Jews on trial for their lives in the conditions of Stalinist Russia. All three were Communists: one was a scientist, one a poet, one a high-placed political figure. Did they change their beliefs when the Stalinist state turned on them?
Presenter: Alice Nakhimovsky is Distinguished Professor of Jewish Studies and Russian and Eurasian Studies at Colgate. She is the author of many books, one of which won a 2015 National Jewish Book Award.
