In this course, we'll be exploring the literature of medieval Wales and Ireland, and the landscapes in which this literature took shape. Along the way, we'll encounter gods and saints, wizards and warriors, and some of the most brilliant love and nature poetry to appear in all of medieval Europe.
Presenter: Morgan Davies is Professor of English and Medieval & Renaissance Studies at Colgate University. He teaches courses on the history of the English language, medieval languages (including Old English, Old Irish, and Middle Welsh), Arthurian literature, early medieval literature, and medieval Celtic literature.
