International Poetry Night
Join us in the Keck Center lounge for our Fourth Annual International Poetry Night, with special guest poet Yu Jian!
Students, faculty, and staff will read poems in the langauge of their choosing (English translations provided). Original poetry and the poetry of others are both welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
If you are interested in participating and in having your poem projected during the event, please send the poem and its English translation (if available) to Nina Palisano at email@example.com before April 4th.
Yu Jian’s works include the collection of poetry “Yu Jian’s Poems” and the long-form essay “River of Spirits: From the Lancang to the Mekong". “Home” (2010), in cooperation with Zhu Xiaoyang, won Taiwan’s 14th United Daily News New Poetry Prize, Taiwan’s Genesis Poetry Magazine Prize and the Lu Xun Literature Prize. His work has been translated into French, German, English, Russian, Japanese, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Swedish and Danish.
