How to Support Students During the Pandemic: What We Learned Last Semester

This webinar is for any Colgate faculty and staff members who interact with students.

Panelists include:

  • Doug Chiarello, Assistant Dean for Administrative Advising
  • Kristin Cothran, Assistant Dean for First- and Second-Year Experience and Community Development
  • Dawn LaFrance, Director, Counseling and Psychological Services
  • Esther Rosbrook, Director, ALANA Cultural Center

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed almost everything that we do, including our work as faculty and staff members at Colgate.

Last fall semester, we had a lot to learn about how to support our students, both those on campus and those studying remotely.

Students’ mental and emotional health is a key concern, given the many ways they have been challenged by the health crisis as well as racial injustice, civil unrest, or other strife. Fortunately, we have worked together as a community to support our students in successful ways.

We are excited to share with you what we learned and to work with all of you to assist our students in navigating this new semester.
