Heather Mac Donald, a secular conservative and a Thomas W. Smith Fellow of the Manhattan Institute, will present on ideas from her 2018 book The Diversity Delusion.

More specifically, Ms. Mac Donald will be describing "How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture."

Ms. Mac Donald will also be discussing the state of free speech (or the lack thereof) on college campuses. Sponsored by the Colgate Open Discussion Club, the only free speech club at Colgate, and the Center for Freedom and Western Civilization, this event is intended to spur important political discussion on campus.

I wanted to attend the event but couldn't do to the event being full. I think if you are going to have such an important speaker on campus that people who want to listen should get first priority versus students who sit in the room to be rude and protest the guest speaker. I think we need to have more conservative speakers on this campus in order for students to have a better sense of what the other side stands for and to be more open minded.
