Public talk and demonstration by Divya Anantharaman, founder of Gotham Taxidermy, the first QTBIPOC-owned taxidermy studio in New York City.

Bringing together the science of biology and anatomy with aesthetic expression and art, Divya Anantharaman uses taxidermy to engage audiences with ideas about nature and conservation. In the spirit of celebrating animals, marveling at their beauty, connecting people and animals along with the places we share, and fostering appreciation for the conservation of natural wonders, Divya draws on the art of taxidermy to connect humans and nature.

The author's book signing and sales of "Stuffed Animals: A Modern Guide to Taxidermy" will immediately follow the event, courtesy of the Colgate Bookstore.

Event co-sponsored by the Colgate Arts Council, Art & Art History, Biology, Educational Studies, Environmental Studies, History, LGBTQ Studies, Museum Studies, Theater, the Arnold A. Sio Chair in Diversity and Community, and the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation
