DESCRIPTION:Join Assistant Director of Sustainability Julia Sparks in her f
 avorite spring pastime - birding!\n\nStarting near the Colgate Cemetery\, w
 e will walk through the Colgate forests in search of year-long avian reside
 nts in addition to some of the earlier migratory songbirds that have made t
 he return trip from their southern wintering grounds. Check out the 98 spec
 ies identified on Colgate's trails on the eBird list. Along the way\, we wi
 ll also look out for blooming spring ephemeral wildflowers in the forest un
 derstory.\n\nThe group will walk at a slow pace and will cover about one mi
 le over the course of the walk. Binoculars will be provided\, but you are e
 ncouraged to bring your own\, if you have them. Please wear sturdy walking 
 shoes and take precautions against ticks. All are welcome regardless of ski
 ll or experience.\n\nWe will walk rain or shine!\n\nThis event is part of t
 he Office of Sustainability’s 13 Days of Green series leading up to Earth D
 ay.
