About this Event
ALANA Cultural Center, 13 Oak Dr, Hamilton, NY 13346, USA
#ENSTJoin us as we explore wasted food solutions in the marketplace and how we can work across the EPA Food Recovery Hierarchy to identify prevention, recovery, and diversion solutions.
Lisa Pellegrino is a waste reduction consultant with the Center for EcoTechnology (CET), and is in awe of all of the elegantly closed loop systems we’re surrounded by in our natural world. Every organism’s “waste” is another organism’s food. How might humans reharmonize and replicate that ingenious resourcefulness?
Lisa is an alumni of the University of Rhode Island, AmeriCorps, the Southface Energy Institute, and got her MBA in Sustainable Systems, specializing in sustainable food & agriculture.
CET administers the “Rethink Food Waste NY” program, which provides free wasted food solutions for New York businesses, municipalities, organic recyclers (composting, anaerobic digestion, etc.), food relief organizations, and other relevant organizations.
Wraps will be provided by Hamilton Whole Foods, including nut-free, gluten-free, and vegan options.
This event counts toward the Sustainability Passport Program for Colgate employees. Attendance must be submitted through the Passport website after the event in order to earn credit.
