Maps can distill a story out of complex information and spark conversation. In the stages of science, there’s a continuum of map solutions that aid in both the understanding of complex topics and the ability to reach broad audiences. From using participant-led mapping with Arctic Indigenous communities to creating maps of climate change impacts for a global audience, the possibilities of maps in the realm of our science are endless.

Join Greg Fiske, chief cartographer at Woodwell Climate Research Center, for an exploration of commonly used tools and techniques for making beautiful maps, as well as common challenges, success stories, and failures, faced in nearly two and half decades of making maps for Woods Hole scientists.

Hot wraps from Hamilton Whole Foods will be provided and will include vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free options. Please bring your own reusable water bottle.
