Colgate University Orchestra Concert

The Colgate University Orchestra (Marietta Cheng, conductor) will perform Beethoven’s exuberant Eighth Symphony  on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in the Colgate Memorial Chapel. The Eighth Symphony is light-hearted, which is unusual for Beethoven. Other concert highlights will be Berlioz’s dramatic Overture to the Secret Court, Chabrier’s joyous Fête Polonaise, Mozart’s lively Overture to the Impresario and works for the Winners of the Concerto Competition: Dvorak Violin Concerto, first movement, TianShu Fan ’20, Violin and Chaminade Concertino for Flute and Orchestra, Victoria Peluf ’21, Flute. The concert is free and all are invited.
