 fessor Conrad James. \n\nConrad James is Associate Professor of Comparativ
 e Literature and Caribbean Studies at the University of Toronto. \n\nHis p
 rincipal research focus is the cultural production of the Spanish Caribbea
 n. In addition to various articles on Cuban and Dominican poetry\, he is a
 uthor of Filial Crisis and Erotic Politics in Black Cuban Literature (2019
 ). He has also published Writing the Afro-Hispanic: Essays on Africa and A
 fricans in the Spanish Caribbean (2012) and The Cultures of the Hispanic C
 aribbean (2000). Dr James is currently undertaking several research projec
 ts which draw on his background in the Spanish Caribbean but address a num
 ber of different literatures of the global south.       \n\nProfessor Jame
 s received his PhD in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of
  Cambridge and\, prior to moving to Toronto\, taught at several universiti
 es in both the United Kingdom and the USA.
