The expansion of cities worldwide is a major driver of local, regional, and global environmental changes. Despite that, urban areas are often overlooked in ecological and evolutionary studies. In this talk, I will show the mechanisms thought which urbanization changes ecological and evolutionary processes in aquatic biota. Such information is fundamental to advance classic theories and for promoting conservation in cities.
