This traditional event offers both reflection for, and a farewell to, the graduating class. The service includes comments from the 1819 Award winner, the winner of the Jerome Balmuth Award for Teaching and Student Engagement, and Colgate’s president. Graduating seniors offer readings from diverse religious and humanist traditions and present musical and dance selections.

This event traditionally draws more people than the chapel can hold. The graduates will be seated in the chapel. Family members can watch a livestream at colgate.edu/commencement or in one of these viewing locations:

  • Hurwitz Admission Center, James B. Colgate Hall

  • 105 Little Hall (Golden Auditorium)

  • 213 Benton Hall (Clifford Commons)

Seniors will line up for the procession at 3 p.m.
