Art & Art History Lecture: Bogdan Achimescu

Bogdan Achimescu is a visual artist born in Romania. He studied art at the Fine Arts School in Timișoara and the Institute of Visual arts in Cluj and graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Kraków, Poland in 1992. Achimescu’s method mixes drawing, written text and storytelling. His works are in collections worldwide, including MoMA (NY), the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), and the Vienna Albertina. In 2001 Achimescu, as a member of Context Network, represented Romania at the Venice Biennale. Between 2000 and 2004 he taught at several American universities. He lives and works in Kraków, Poland. Co-sponsored by the Program in Western Art, Center for Freedom and Western Civilization.
