About this Event
Derek Penslar, William Lee Frost Professor of Jewish History at Harvard University, will discuss hostility toward Jews and Zionism as a bundle of negative emotions ranging from fear to anger, and from hatred to rage. Identifying the specific components of these feelings clarifies distinctions as well as commonalities between anti-Zionism and antisemitism. Depicting emotions as bundles of affective energy also helps us better understand the conditions under which Zionism generates negative emotions towards others, especially Palestinians.
Light refreshments will be provided from Chartwells.
This Zoom talk is sponsored by The Frank and Lois Lautenber Jewish Lecture Fund.
