We will discuss ways of reading that center environmental issues—relationships between human and nonhuman animals, climate crisis, resource distribution—and consider enduring preoccupations in American literature with people searching for meaning in "nature."
Presenter: Ben Child is a Professor of English at Colgate University. He teaches courses in American Literature and Environmental Humanities. His current research addresses literary productions and interpretations of U.S. populism.
