Alternative Cinema: Works by Karel Doing
About this Event
Little Hall, Hamilton, NY 13346, USA
Screening followed by a virtual Q&A with artist and filmmaker Karel Doing
Karel Doing is an artist and researcher working with photochemical film, expanded cinema, and ecological thinking. He is known for developing “Phytography”—a practice that treats film as a living, time-based process shaped by light, chemistry, environment, and chance. Bridging making and theory, Doing’s work invites attentive viewing and listening, foregrounding cinema as a material encounter with the world rather than a fixed image. This screening features a selection of Doing's short films.

The Alternative Cinema series is made possible by the Department of Art, Film and Media Studies, and the Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty.
