Startup Experience and NYC Immersion Trip

Startup Experience is a 2-day entrepreneurship program that is a unique opportunity to learn what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. You will hear from experienced global entrepreneurs and work in a team to transform a big problem into a new opportunity for a startup company. During the program you’ll learn what it means to have an entrepreneurial mindset, how to be more creative, how to test your innovative ideas, and how to build a real viable company in just two days. 

This program is for anyone interested in being a change maker – the tools you’ll get can be applied in all industries and in all careers. You don’t need to have a business idea to sign up – all you need is a lot of energy and a positive attitude. 

Following the workshop, we will take a bus to NYC to visit various startups with a Colgate Professional Network event in the evening.

The schedule of events is as follows:

  • January 13 & 14 - Workshop (9 am - 6pm)
  • January 15 - Bus leaves for NYC (1 pm)
  • January 16 - NYC startups CPN event
  • January 17 - Depart for Hamilton (10 am)

There will be a $150 deposit due by December 21. A portion of the deposit will be refunded in the form of spending money for the trip. Financial assistance is available to those receiving Colgate University financial aid. You must be available to attend BOTH the workshop and the trip.

Non-Colgate students will be able to attend the workshop only. The cost is $150, which covers all materials and meals. Checks may be made payable to Colgate University - TIA and presented the first day of the workshop.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: December 20, 2017

There is no addtional cost for Colgate students to attend this workshop.
