#EmbodiedPAGThe Picker Art Gallery's artist in residence Jessica Posner leads Colgate students in a live adaptation of her video work Mother. Please note the location change from the Academic Quad to Huntington 303.
The Picker's current exhibition, Embodied, features artist in residence Jessica Posner. Major support for the residency is provided by the Colgate Arts Council, and additional support is provided by the Department of Theater, Core152, and the Department of Art and Art History. Drawing primarily from the Picker’s permanent collection, Embodied explores how artists engage with the body as a subject and as a metaphor. Featuring thirty-nine works from the sixteenth century to the present by artists such as Diane Arbus, Alexander Archipenko, Claude Cahun, Paul Cézanne, and Philip Pearlstein, the exhibition demonstrates the inherent power of the body to convey personal, social, and political meanings.
