These lyrics resonated with Copland when he composed the ballet during WW II. The orchestral suite won the Pulitzer Prize in 1945. Other concert highlights will be Mendelssohn ‘s captivating Fourth Symphony, “Italian”, Mozart’s luminous Third Horn Concerto, Tyler Ogilvie French Horn and Wagner’s inspiring Prelude to Die Meistersinger.
